Oliver J Private Blood

Everything you’d want to ask first.

  • No referral needed. Choose your test, book a time that suits you and come in. Your report is written so you can share it with your GP if anything deserves a follow-up.

  • Most doctor-reviewed reports are returned within 5–7 working days of your sample reaching the laboratory. Some specialist panels can take a little longer; we’ll tell you at your appointment if yours is one of them.

  • Yes. Each visit has one £25 blood draw fee, however many tests you book for that appointment. It is shown as its own line when you book. If you pay by bank transfer, the £25 is the deposit that secures your time (it is non-refundable), and the price of your tests is paid by bank transfer when you arrive.

  • Your sample is drawn by Demi, our fully trained phlebotomist. Draws take a few minutes in a calm, private treatment room. No queues, no rush.

  • Only for some panels. Tests that include cholesterol or other lipids are best taken after an 8–12 hour fast (water is fine), and cortisol is most informative around 9am. Each test page lists its preparation, and we confirm everything when you book.

  • Your results arrive as a clear, doctor-reviewed report delivered securely by email. Every marker is shown against its reference range with a doctor’s comment explaining what the picture means.

  • 1428 London Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 2UL, on the same premises as Oliver J Laser. We are a few minutes from Chalkwell and Leigh stations, with parking nearby, and appointments are private and unhurried.

  • Out-of-range markers are flagged clearly in your report alongside the doctor’s comments and sensible next steps. A private blood test is information, not a diagnosis. Where something needs attention, your report gives you exactly what to take to your GP.

  • If you’re not sure, the two-minute Find My Test quiz narrows 37 panels down to the ones that fit how you’re feeling, or call us on 01702 714888 and we’ll talk it through.
